About the Event

Online ticket sales have ended. Tickets are available at the door until we sell out.

We are grateful to our AJM friends who purchased tickets.

The Augusta Jewish Museum's 2nd Annual Fundraiser features Russell Joel Brown and special guests The Brownstone Gritty. The concert is being given in memory of Civic Leader Susan Steinberg, who was planning this event and had so many other community activities up until her untimely death from cancer in July 2023.

Russell Joel Brown is a favorite Augusta native, known for his Mozart to Motown concerts, and has starred on Broadway in Lion King, Ain't Misbehavin', and more. Mr. Brown has a new 2024 show in development that celebrates the great American Songbook and male crooners of the past and present. "Velvet Voices" features the music of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Luther Vandross, Gregory Porter, and more. Special guests, The Brownstown Gritty, will delight the audience with their smooth jazz, funk, and soul sounds.

Mr. Brown impacts the lives of children and adults alike by supporting Augusta area non-profits in raising much-needed funds. Along with the Augusta Jewish Museum, the Colton Ballet, Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History, Jessye Norman School of the Arts, and many others have benefitted from Mr. Brown's fundraising concerts and appearances.

Reflecting his passion for enhancing the lives of young people, Russell Joel Brown developed and currently serves as Director of Boys (+1girl) With A Future, a program of Good Neighbor Ministries. This world-class after-school program is for inner-city youth in academic and life crises in the Harrisburg area of Augusta. This program seeks to revolutionize this underserved area through education, the only sure way out of poverty and into a fulfilling and well-rounded life.

VIP ticket holders and sponsors receive preferred seating and an after-show reception with an opportunity to meet and greet the artists.
